Woodstock has long been a model for environmental progress, but we can be a model community for so much more. I’m honored to be running in the town I grew up in. Together, I know we can move this town forward—without the division, without the gridlock, and with a vision for a better future
"If I win this election, it won’t just be my victory—it will be Woodstock’s. It will mean that we have chosen progress over stagnation, action over division, and leadership that listens. This is a town worth fighting for."
Erin’s leadership was instrumental in 2017, when the DEP (NYC Department of Environmental Protection) began opening their parcels of property for hunting and hiking, directly impacting private properties. Being appointed to the Hunting/Hiking Task Force for DEP Parcel 509, she successfully negotiated a compromise that safeguards homeowner's rights while maintaining public access for recreation—a solution that remains in place today. Signs were placed an additional 500’ before entering private property. This was due to the potential for accidental firing of guns due to the thick forest brush. Additionally, all other private property that bordered parcel 509 was clearly posted.
She believes Woodstock can once again be a model town—not just for environmental issues, but for transparent government, community collaboration, and innovative solutions. Erin is running for Woodstock Town Supervisor because she knows it’s time for action, not infighting, and she is ready to lead with integrity, experience, and a commitment to progress.
"Woodstock needs leaders who take action and are able to make decisions to move forward. I have a proven track record of getting things done. Our water, land, and air must be protected with zoning laws that incorporate stricter environmental regulations. Residents deserve transparency, accessibility, and a government that listens. From water safety to personal safety, our town needs to prioritize the well-being of its residents and employees. Let’s leave behind infighting and stagnation. It’s time for real, positive change."

ERIN MORAN'S
Accomplishments and Experience
Advocate for Clean Water & Land Use Protection - In October 2020, while on the WEC, Erin authored the first resolution that was presented to the Town Board outlining a plan for remediation of the violations at 10 Church Rd., including testing before & after the fill was to be removed. While this resolution passed, it was never acted upon due to political gridlock and disagreements among town leadership.
The Town of Woodstock awarded Bronze certification in NYS Climate Smart Communities Program - As Coordinator, the Town of Woodstock achieved bronze certification in just 8 months! Erin spearheaded this program, opening up funding and resources to the town.
Earth Day Organizer – In 2019, Erin took charge of the town's annual Earth Day Celebration. She continues to grow the event, growing the turnout each year. Erin was able to collaborate with local organizations to bring this annual event to the next level.
Created WEC Facebook Page - Collaborated with other WEC members to create a Facebook page for the WEC in 2020. Some residents were not aware of this important commission and their efforts. She created this page for transparency and an additional way for residents to stay abreast of environmental events in the area.
Pollinator Pathway Project - Partnered with Woodstock Land Conservancy to make the Town of Woodstock a project sponsor as a member of the WEC.
Completed Natural Resource Inventory (NRI) in 2021 - Collaborated with Town of Olive, Hudson River Estuary, WEC members and Cornell in a year long project to identify, prioritize, plan, protect and manage natural resources including wetlands and open spaces.
Supported Woodstock Land Conservancy’s first annual Scarecrow festival in 2021 - The WEC helped to promote this local fundraiser that raises awareness of conservation of nature.
Zena Woods Critical Environmental Area - Worked with the town board, WEC members, and environmental agencies to establish this area as a Critical Environmental Area (CEA). Zena Woods was registered with NYS DEC.
Opposed Ashokan Power Plant Proposal – Submitted key recommendations to the town against environmentally harmful plans.
