<h2>A Proven Advocate for Woodstock</h2>Erin’s leadership was instrumental in 2017, when the DEP (NYC Department of Environmental Protection) began opening their parcels of property for hunting and hiking, directly impacting private properties. Being appointed to the Hunting/Hiking Task Force for DEP Parcel 509, she successfully negotiated a compromise that safeguards homeowner's rights while maintaining public access for recreation—a solution that remains in place today. Signs were placed an additional 500’ before entering private property. This was due to the potential for accidental firing of guns due to the thick forest brush. Additionally, all other private property that bordered parcel 509 was clearly posted.She believes Woodstock can once again be a model town—not just for environmental issues, but for transparent government, community collaboration, and innovative solutions. Erin is running for Woodstock Town Supervisor because she knows it’s time for action, not infighting, and she is ready to lead with integrity, experience, and a commitment to progress."Woodstock needs leaders who take action and are able to make decisions to move forward. I have a proven track record of getting things done. Our water, land, and air must be protected with zoning laws that incorporate stricter environmental regulations. Residents deserve transparency, accessibility, and a government that listens. From water safety to personal safety, our town needs to prioritize the well-being of its residents and employees. <h3>Overhauling the Woodstock Police Department for a Safer, More Equitable Community</h3>Woodstock deserves a police department that is trusted, transparent, and effective—one that serves the community with integrity and respect. Our department is in dire need of a complete overhaul, starting with zero tolerance for workplace hostility and a renewed commitment to accountability, training, and retention.<h4>Key Actions &amp; Priorities</h4>✔ Police Department that enforces a Zero Tolerance for Workplace Hostility We must ensure a safe, professional work environment within our police department. Hostility and misconduct have no place in our town’s public safety system. If elected, I will establish a code of conduct that will be followed by all.✔ De-Escalation, Mental Health &amp; Addiction Response Training Our officers need the proper training and resources to effectively handle mental health crises, addiction-related incidents, and de-escalation techniques—ensuring safer outcomes for both residents and law enforcement. &nbsp;If elected, I will work with the department and other agencies to see that&nbsp; training is offered and taken regularly.✔ Improved Retention &amp; Recruitment Turnover is too high, and we cannot afford to lose dedicated, well-trained officers. I believe Woodstock can offer competitive benefits and training opportunities.✔ Active Participation in the Police Department Task Force I’m honored to be a part of the newly created Police Department Task Force, working to implement these much-needed changes. Accountability & Community Trust

A clever contraption will control the water level of locally treasured Yankeetown Pond off the road between Glenford and Wittenberg while protecting Pond Road and neighboring properties. It will also preserve the well-established beaver habitat there while providing a first step to restoring the pond to its past glory.On August 13, the Beaver Institute installed something called a flexible pond leveler, or water leveler, oftentimes called a beaver deceiver. It is designed to prevent beavers from hearing or feeling water flow, which is what motivates them to fortify the dams they build. Restoring Yankeetown Pond to what it was

<h3>Get revised Zoning passed and enforced</h3>Woodstock has long been a model for environmental consciousness, but preserving our natural resources requires proactive leadership. Our town faces increasing development pressures that threaten our forests, wetlands, and open spaces. Without strong, informed leadership, we risk losing what makes Woodstock so special.I have spent years advocating for responsible land use, and my work on the Woodstock Environmental Commission and Climate Smart Communities program has led to real results. I played a key role in helping block the Terramor glamping project, ensuring our community’s voice was heard and protecting our fragile ecosystems from overdevelopment. I am also working toward a robust and sustainable agreement on the Zena Woods development, prioritizing environmental safeguards, responsible planning, and community input.<h4>Key Actions &amp; Priorities </h4>✔ Development Smart growth by development and conservation strategies that can help protect our environment and make our communities more attractive, economically stronger, socially diverse, and resilient to climate change. ✔ New Policies Advocate for climate-smart policies that prioritize sustainability in all town planning and infrastructure decisions. ✔ New Leadership Expand Woodstock’s role as a leader in environmental action, securing grants and resources for conservation, renewable energy, and green initiatives.<h4>The Path Forward</h4>Woodstock should not just protect its environmental legacy—we should set the standard for what a truly sustainable, community-first town looks like. I have fought for these principles as a volunteer, and if I am elected as Town Supervisor, I will ensure they remain at the heart of every decision we make.

<h3>Creating Safe, Inclusive, and Connected Community Spaces</h3>Woodstock thrives when every resident feels safe, supported, and included. Our public spaces should reflect our town’s values—providing not only physical safety but also fostering a sense of belonging for all. From ensuring protections in the workplace to creating resources for those in need, I am committed to making Woodstock a place where everyone has access to essential services and a welcoming environment.<h4>Key Actions &amp; Priorities </h4>✔ New Heating &amp; Cooling Centers Establish a designated heating &amp; cooling center to provide relief for residents during extreme weather conditions. No one in our community should suffer from preventable heat or cold-related health risks. ✔ A Safer Neighborhood Advocate for safer streets, by working with Complete Streets to address pedestrian accessibility, traffic concerns, and community-driven improvements to town infrastructure. ✔ Communal Spaces Create more inclusive gathering spaces by utilizing outdoor spaces, supporting local businesses, expanding community programs, and ensuring all public venues are accessible to residents of all abilities, throughout the entire year.<h4>The Path Forward</h4>A safe, inclusive, and connected Woodstock isn’t just an idea—it’s a necessity. If elected as Town Supervisor, I would support the Youth Center makeover where we can finally offer a space, both indoor and out, for residents to enjoy. Our community will be healthier for it, both mentally and physically.

Safe Spaces

<h3>Access to clean, safe water is a fundamental right, and Woodstock deserves leadership that prioritizes the health of our community.</h3>Recent tests have shown PFAS/PFOS levels above non-detectable limits in our town water, raising serious concerns about long-term safety.I have already taken proactive steps by collaborating with environmental experts, the New York State and Ulster County Health Departments, and town officials to assess current protocols and identify potential contamination sources. However, reactive measures are not enough—we need a comprehensive, forward-thinking approach to protect our water now and for generations to come.<h4>Key Actions &amp; Priorities </h4>✔ Investigate Investigate and address potential sources of PFAS/PFOS contamination, working closely with regulatory agencies to prevent further pollution.✔ Upgrade Advocate for infrastructure upgrades that enhance filtration and purification, ensuring our water meets the highest safety standards. ✔ Communication is Key Provide clear, timely communication with residents, so you are always informed about water quality and any necessary actions. ✔ Seek Funding Where Needed Investigate State &amp; Federal grants and funding opportunities to support long-term solutions without placing unnecessary financial burdens on taxpayers.<h4>The Path Forward</h4>Woodstock has always been a leader in environmental responsibility—it's time to extend that leadership to protecting our most vital resource: our water. Let’s ensure that every resident, every family, and every future generation can trust the safety of what comes out of their tap. If elected a Town Supervisor, I will see that we test our municipal water at least quarterly. The results will be available to the public promptly and concerns will be heard and taken into consideration.

Clean Water, Healthy Woodstock

<h3>Ensuring Accountability &amp; Environmental Protection at 10 Church Road</h3>Woodstock deserves leadership that doesn’t turn a blind eye to environmental hazards. Since August 2020, when I first became aware of contamination concerns at 10 Church Road, I have relentlessly pushed for action. In October 2020, while on the WEC, I wrote a resolution that was presented to the Town Board outlining a remediation, including testing before and after the fill was to be removed. While this resolution passed, it was never acted upon due to political gridlock and disagreements among town leadership.For over three years, I have continued to monitor the site, advocate for its cleanup, and push for greater enforcement of our land-use laws. My last visit in September 2023 reaffirmed that without strong leadership, environmental accountability will remain stagnant. As a volunteer, I have done everything in my power to push for progress—but now, it’s time to GET THE JOB DONE.<h4>Key Actions &amp; Priorities</h4>✔ Reopening the Files Open up the files and enforce a remediation plan that follows our town’s law. Starting with the outstanding fines owed by the property owner from the October 2022 conviction in Shandaken court. ✔ Follow Regulations Ensure environmental regulations are enforced so this never happens again. ✔ Remediation Work with state agencies and experts to remediate the site safely and transparently.✔ Removal &amp; Testing Make the removal and testing of the contaminated fill at 10 Church Road a top priority. ✔ Accountability Hold those responsible accountable and implement stronger oversight measures for land use.<h4>The Path Forward</h4>This should have NEVER happened in Woodstock. I am committed to ensuring our town enforces its environmental laws, protects our residents, and prioritizes clean land, air, and water for all. No more delays. No more excuses. It’s time for action. If elected as Towb Supervisor, I plan on keeping my promise to Frank Eighmey &amp; his family to pursue all available remediation efforts.

Since 2020, when Erin first visited 10 Church Rd., she started advocating&nbsp;for the removal of the fill. She will&nbsp;re-open up the files and follow through with a remediation plan that enforces our town’s law and protects our land, air and water.

Dealing with contaminated soil primary issue in raceWOODSTOCK, N.Y. &gt;&gt; The race for town supervisor now has three candidates with newcomer Erin Moran and Councilwoman Anula Courtis joining former Onteora school district Trustee David Wallis in a race expected to start with the Democratic primary.The petition period for signatures to be on the Tuesday, June 24, primary ballot runs through Thursday, April 3.Current Supervisor Bill McKenna, who has held the position since 2017, told the Freeman on Tuesday, Feb. 18, he was not seeking a fifth elected term.The common thread among the three candidates is finding a way to deal with contaminated soil at 10 Church Road and determining the best way to alleviate the effects. <h2>Managing Wetlands for People and Beavers</h2>Erin Moran has been working on implementing a water leveler AKA “Beaver Deceiver” in Yankeetown Pond since she acquired rights to the wetland in 2018. Yankeetown Pond is a circumneutral bog lake in Woodstock, NY part of the Ashokan Watershed. Right now, too many Woodstock residents struggle to find essential information—whether it's permits, committee updates, or town regulations—due to an outdated and inefficient website. Navigating the town website shouldn’t feel like solving a puzzle. It’s time to bring Woodstock’s digital resources into the 21st century.&nbsp; I will use my experience and background in moving technical projects along as a Project Manager to get this done.<h4>Key Actions &amp; Priorities </h4>✔ Redesign &amp; Restructure Overhaul the town’s website to make it user-friendly, clear, and easy to navigate. I am looking at other town’s websites and combining what they have to offer with our residents’&nbsp; needs. ✔Clarity through Reliability Ensure all essential forms, permits, and documents are available online with step-by-step guidance. It should be a location of trusted information. ✔ Date Sensitive &amp; Action Items Create a centralized information hub where residents can quickly find meeting schedules, committee updates, and town board decisions. ✔ Improve transparency Create a clear communication channel/network by making public records and decisions more accessible.<h4>The Path Forward</h4>If elected as Town Supervisor, I will work with the town board to interview other website developers. I have seen other town’s sites that are user-friendly. We’ll start there. Some features of our town’s website should include security of emails and employee information and ease of use. I will establish a system to scan all documents and upload those documents timely for full transparency. Including meeting agendas, forms, instructions, meeting minutes, resolutions passed and more.
